I have teamed up with two amazing sponsors for this event FlowFold & BuyGreen. Both of which are enviroment friendly.
FLOWFOLD
FlowFold creates wallets made out of sailboat sail scraps. How did they come about you ask? FlowFolds were created by Charles Friedman, a teenager who had a job sewing sailboat sails in Maine. Charles carried a leather wallet that once belonged to his grandfather and eventually the wallet fell apart. He then crafted a wallet from sailboat sail scraps and the very first FlowFold wallet was born! These wallets are extremely durable, thin, light weight, and weather resistant!
I really think these wallets are unique. They are definitely a conversation starter. My husband absolutely loves this wallet. It fits perfectly in his back pocket and in his suit jacket for work! They come in a variety of colors and different styles- trifold, billfold or tarjetero. If you are looking for a durable wallet that will last, look no further! FlowFold is here!

BUYGREEN
I was able to review an amazing, eco-friendly purse.... the (small) English Retreads Beetle Bag. This stylish purse is made from reclaimed rubber inner tubes and recycled PET lining material. It is available in 2 sizes; small beetle and large beetle. Another great option is the choice of lining color for your purse.
I chose the small beetle because I thought it would be super cute for summer. I love traveling so carrying a smaller purse is always more convenient. Whether I am on the motorcycle, or traveling somewhere local, this purse is going to come in handy. BuyGreen also has a TON more items to choose from so looking at their website is a must.

I love the idea of the wallet made from recycled sailboat sails!!
ReplyDeleteI want to help the earth stay clean so my children will not live in a polluted place when im gone
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a wallet made from recycled sailboat sales. If I were to make a wallet out of recycled materials. I might look into using shower curtains. Yes, it sounds weird, but if sanitized it could be kind of cool especially with some of the cool patterns I've seen.
ReplyDeleteTo help the earth stay clean we geocache. While we go on our geocaching hikes, we bring bags along and pick up waste that we find. We are also careful with out own resources. If we are trying to get hot water in the sink, we collect all other water in a bucket until the water heats up. We use that water in our yard.
ReplyDeleteI think the sailboat sails is a great idea. I used to make wallets out of feed bags from an animal sanctuary I volunteered at!
ReplyDeleteI help the Earth stay green by eating a vegan diet, growing my own food and walking instead of driving!
ReplyDeleteThe Wallet is a wonderful idea, I would think that seat belt straps could be used like the bags, or could make out of canvas, but I am not as smart as that young man was and I guess just putting in a plastic bag does not work..LOL thaqnk you for showing me these..
ReplyDeleteI do not litter, i try to reuse rainwater for plants etc, shorter showers, save the water..
ReplyDeleteI love the wallet idea. I'd like a wallet made from vinyl records, somehow.
ReplyDeleteI help the earth by donating and reusing everything I can.
ReplyDeleteMy boys and I are big on recycling. =)
ReplyDeleteMaybe a wallet out of recycled tires? =)
ReplyDeleteI have not used one ziploc all school year in my daughter's lunches
ReplyDeletelove the purse and i recycle cans and newpapers and we save rainwater for our garden
ReplyDeleteI like the recycled sailboat wallet and I would think maybe recycled billboards, tires, hoses, drink packs (like capri sun)
ReplyDeleteI recycle, pick up trash if I see it, collect bottles and recyclable cans and try to keep trash to a minimum.
ReplyDeleteI like anything recycled. I think using old tires, plastics and old care upholstery would be cool.
ReplyDeleteWe compost and recycle and try to make imporvemetns to our land for the wild life.
ReplyDeleteI love recycled and upcycled anything! Just think about everything that sail scrap has seen! I wish I was handy with a sewing machine - I'm guessing there would be a decent market for wallets / cosmetic bags / purses made from wedding or prom gowns.

ReplyDeleteI reduce, reuse, and recycle. Reusable shopping bags, reusable sandwich bags, clothing gets cut into rags for cleaning, cloth napkins. My kids love finding new ways to go green!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that the wallet is made from recycle products!!! I would use duck tape, plastic bottles, or other items to make my own! Not that creative, though so it is awesome that someone has already made it!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI compost and recycle!!
ReplyDeleteOH and I also am starting a garden this year!!! yay!! :)
ReplyDeleteback again and i go green period and i take my own cloths bag grocery shopping!!

I cloth diaper, recycle, and compost.
ReplyDeleteWe cloth diaper to help the earth.
ReplyDeleteI would make a wallet out of those plastic sponsor banners you see at sporting events...what do they do with them afterwards?
ReplyDeleteWe recycle and use cloth napkins and towels.
ReplyDeleteyes I love the wallet idea and I'm not that creative so I don't know what I'd make.
ReplyDeletejci love going green
ReplyDeleteWe recycle as much as we can...even use the water from our shower to water our veggie garden.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the wallet I don't know what I would make them out of
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great idea to make wallets out of old sail boat sails. I any durable material could be recycled in wallets.
ReplyDeleteWe recycle and compost. We walk and bike as much as possible. Everyday we are looking for new ways to reduce, recycle and reuse.
ReplyDeleteMy family recycles to help the Earth stay clean. I never litter and prefer to reuse rather than buy new if possible. I also love gardening, a way to kind of re-beautify the Earth I guess.
ReplyDeleteI have loved my leather wallet as well as my current one that is a quilted fabric, so I am open to sailboat sails or any other recycled material for a wallet. Would love to see maybe use of fabric/ purse/ shoe scraps to make a wallet- to add the typical leather and fabric element but in a sustainable way.
ReplyDeleteI garden, reuse, reduce, and turn off the water when brushing my teeth. I also love composting
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using recycled sail boat sail's to make a wallet. I would love to make anything made out of used products like soda cans!
ReplyDeleteI recycle whenever I can. I use plastic containers that had food products in them for leftovers.
